About Sally
With over 45 years of experience as a custom dressmaker and 15 years experience teaching in one of the world’s top Fashion Schools, it is my passion to pass on my skills to those that want to learn. I created the Sew with Sally YouTube channel with sewing tutorials to share this expertise with you.
Very few home sewers/aspiring designers understand patternmaking and how easy it can be. Knowing the frustration, first hand, of using a commercial pattern that does not fit the body perfectly, I teach how to make a foundational pattern, also called a Block or Sloper. I use two easy methods, one taped and one draped. When you have a sloper that is made for your body, or your client’s body, it is easy and fun to make patterns because you start with the shape and size needed for the unique shape that is YOU!
